So I was introduced to someone over the internet. I say “introduced” because we hadn’t met until yesterday when he moved in. In fact we never communicated. It was all arranged by someone else. So yesterday, I drove to Federal Way to pick him up. when I got there I couldn’t believe my eyes. He is so cute, and young! You have just got to take a look at him, I just know you’ll fall in love with him too. His name is Charlie and I’ve got pictures of him posted here.

See, I told you you’d love him. So now my life has changed drastically, caring for this cutie.

I should have done this much sooner.

The Coast is Clear

So this past weekend I went to the Oregon Coast. I stayed in a little town called Astoria. As it turns out this is quite a popular little town. Astoria was the setting of the 1985 movie The Goonies, which was filmed on location. Other movies filmed in Astoria include Overboard, Short Circuit, The Black Stallion, Kindergarten Cop, Free Willy, Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, Benji the Hunted, The Ring,^[10] The Ring Two, Into the Wild, and The Guardian.

For the occasion I got myself a new camera - Cannon PowerShot SD780 IS.

So I’m on my way to Berlin to visit a friend. Its been eight years since I’ve been to Germany. The last time I went to Frankfurt, Cologne, Freiberg, Rothenburg and Selters. So I’m very much looking forward to visiting Berlin. Ah Berlin the former home of the Love Parade with all its European charm and splendor. Yes I know its cold and we all know how I feel about the cold. Oh well hopefully I won’t freeze. Until then I’ll be practicing the most important phrase in any language “Wo ist die toilette?”

Citizen Kane

A lot’s happened in the past few months. One of the biggest things is that I’m officially a citizen now. Yes I know, I totally sold out to the MAN, but now I get all the cool privileges of being a dual citizen. Roughly translated, I get to keep my foreign born snobbery without the danger of being deported. It was a long time in the making but finally over. It took me all of 13 months to get it done.

Before the ceremony they told us we could use the restroom. I got back just in time to hear the speaker concluding “…and this concludes the explanation of how things really work in America.” Every one was congratulating one another and commenting on how life would be so much easier now that they knew the secret of how things really work in this country. I kept asking for someone to explain it to me, tell me what did I miss. But no one seemed to notice. I guess they were too busy thinking of what saps they all were for not understanding before.

Oh well that’s life…
